Getting help
Email hello@upstroke.app. Tell me your phone model, your app version, and what you were doing when it went wrong. I read every message.
Do I need an account?
No. There is no sign-up and no login.
Where does my practice data live?
On your phone, inside the app. There is no server copy.
Is my data backed up?
On iPhone, your data is included in your phone’s own backup, such as iCloud Backup. Upstroke has no sync or backup of its own.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app. That removes everything it stored.
Why does Upstroke ask for permissions?
Each one is optional. The app asks only when you use the feature that needs it.
- Microphone: to record yourself practicing.
- Camera and photos: to add a picture of a chart.
- Notifications: to remind you about practice.
Everything else works if you say no.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Planning, practicing and recording need no internet.
Can I get my recordings off the phone?
Not yet. Recordings stay inside the app for now.
Privacy
Upstroke sends anonymous usage events and crash reports so I can fix bugs. It never sends your notes, photos or recordings. See the privacy policy and the terms of use.
